“Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation!” -Psalm 68:19 (NKJV)
A few weeks ago, I had been sick and had to stay home from work. While I was laying on my couch, snotty-nosed and all, I remembered that I had ordered some items from a company about a month before, and I still hadn’t received the package in the mail. I figured it was a good idea to look up the tracking information. It said it had already been delivered to my address two weeks prior. That clearly wasn’t the case, and I became somewhat irritated. The following thoughts came into mind: It must have been put in the wrong mailbox. The recipient must have either not checked to return it, or did check and decided to keep it. It’s not the company’s fault if it got put in the wrong mailbox, so I probably wouldn’t be able to get my money back.
I went back to work the next day and decided that I would check one more time during my lunch break, and if the package still wasn’t there, I would call the post office to see if they could track it down. As an introvert, I certainly don’t enjoy talking on the phone, especially about an issue like this. So, I simply prayed, “Jesus, please just let the package be in my mailbox.”
It was a busy morning at work since I was trying to catch up from the time I missed. I still wasn’t feeling 100% and I just wanted to relax on my lunch break. I went up to my mailbox and turned the key, and sure enough, the package was there! That totally made my day. I got to enjoy my lunch break in peace and didn’t have to waste time on the phone.
God cares about the little things like that. He knows you and what you like and don’t like. He is willing and able to help you and make things easier for you when you ask. Jesus often asked people, “What do you want Me to do for you?” Sometimes, we don’t ask for God’s help until we have a major problem, but I encourage you to invite Him into the little everyday things. He’s waiting for an opportunity to bless you and make your day!
“I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.” -Psalm 116:1-2 (NKJV)
